Sugar Cookies

4 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 C buttermilk
3/4 C shortening, butter flavored best
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all dry ingredients together.  Cut in shortening with dough hook (I just used a spoon and mashed it all together).  Mix in remaining ingredients.  Chill for 1-2 hours.  Roll to 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutters.  Pre-heat oven to 400*.  Bake for 5-7 minutes. Frost/decorate when cool.
